Amodip Flavoured Tablets contain amlodipine, a calcium channel blocker that helps to relax blood vessels, reducing blood pressure in cats. It is used to treat arterial hypertension (high blood pressure).
Suitability +
This medication is specifically for cats. Common side effects include mild vomiting, digestive issues such as anorexia or diarrhea, lethargy, and dehydration. In some cats, mild gingival hyperplasia (gum overgrowth) and enlarged submandibular lymph nodes have been observed. Do not use in cats with severe liver failure, cardiogenic shock, severe aortic stenosis, or known hypersensitivity to amlodipine. Exercise caution when using in cats with renal disease or heart failure, and always consult with your veterinarian. Not recommended for cats weighing less than 2.5 kg. If you observe any signs of illness or adverse effects, consult with your vet immediately.
Care and Instructions +
Administer orally, with or without food. The recommended starting dose is 0.125 - 0.25 mg/kg. After 14 days, the dose may be adjusted up to 0.5 mg/kg once daily, if needed, under veterinary guidance. Regular monitoring of systolic blood pressure (SBP) is required. Always consult with your veterinarian for appropriate dosage adjustments and monitoring. Store below 25°C, protect from light, and keep the blister pack in the outer carton. Any unused half tablets should be returned to the blister pack and discarded after 24 hours. Keep out of reach of animals to prevent accidental ingestion. Remember to consult with your vet for dosage adjustments and monitoring of your cat's blood pressure.
Ingredients +
Active ingredient: Amlodipine (as amlodipine besilate) 1.25 mg/tablet. The tablets also contain a synthetic chicken flavor to enhance palatability.
