Apoquel is a liver-flavored chewable tablet for dogs that is readily consumed as a treat.
Suitability +
This medication is indicated for the treatment of allergic dermatitis and atopic dermatitis in dogs. Do not use in animals with known hypersensitivity to oclacitinib, or in dogs with evidence of immune suppression or progressive malignant neoplasia. Apoquel may increase the susceptibility to infection and the development of papillomas and may exacerbate neoplastic conditions, including subclinical neoplastic conditions. Not recommended for breeding male dogs, pregnant or lactating female dogs, or dogs less than 12 months of age or less than 3 kg bodyweight. Common side effects include vomiting, diarrhea, anorexia, polydipsia, polyphagia, lethargy, pruritus, otitis externa and dermatitis.
Care and Instructions +
Administer tablets orally, with or without food. Tablets are breakable along the score line. Store below 25°C (air conditioning). Use half-tablets within 60 days if stored in the bottle with cap sealed, or within 2 days if stored in the opened blister and returned to the carton. Always consult with your veterinarian before administering any medication and follow their monitoring recommendations.
