Cardisure Flavoured Tablets contain Pimobendan, a medication used to manage congestive heart failure in dogs. It works by improving the heart's ability to pump blood and widening blood vessels, making it easier for the heart to function. Please consult with your vet for appropriate use and monitoring.
Suitability +
These tablets are specifically for dogs suffering from congestive heart failure due to valvular insufficiency or dilated cardiomyopathy (DCM), including preclinical DCM in large breeds. Possible side effects may include a moderate increase in heart rate, vomiting, transient diarrhea, anorexia, or lethargy. Cardisure is contraindicated in dogs with hypertrophic cardiomyopathies or conditions where increased cardiac output is not recommended, such as aortic stenosis. Use in pregnant or lactating dogs should only occur if the benefits outweigh the risks. Consult with your veterinarian regarding any concerns.
Care and Instructions +
Administer Cardisure tablets orally on an empty stomach, at least one hour before feeding. The typical dosage range is 0.2 mg to 0.6 mg/kg bodyweight per day, divided into two doses given approximately 12 hours apart. The preferable daily dose is 0.5 mg/kg bodyweight. Tablets are scored for easy splitting. Store below 25°C, protected from light, and keep out of reach of dogs to prevent accidental ingestion.
